I gently cleaned the electronic contacts on the lens and body, they seemed just fine, (if there is a cleaning protocol I should have for this let me know)

Wouldnt it be great if you could have a camera the size of a point and shoot that had fast sharp interchangeable lenses, autofocus, fast shutter speeds, an accurate meter, and the ability to work in any mode from full auto to full manualYou could slip it in your pocket and it would be the ideal camera for travel and street shooting. If I hit a high-contrast point it seems to do a little better, but I could try to lock on to the eggshell white wall eight feet away from me, and it will never happen. Auto-Rolleiflex, Zeiss Tessar 3.5' - Contax II, Zeiss Sonnar F:1.5, Case Leica IIIC, Latest. It easily takes me five or six locks, (either a half-press with the shutter or the focus-lock button with my thumb, same results either way).
The autofocus is locking on perhaps 10-20% percent of the time.

Help me troubleshoot this thing and make sure it isn't human error: Gold Color - Includes case and remote control in presentation case - 24-48mm. I'm playing around with it now, and am starting to worry that something isn't working with the auto focus. I just ran a few rolls through it and was less-than-impressed with my focus success rate. Just picked up a new-to-me Contax G2, which I have no experience with.
